I was an ear of corn for Halloween 2007. This was before I learned how to use a sewing machine so I hand sewed the dress together. The kernels in the front is drawn with a sharpie on a yellow piece of fabric.What seemed like a random choice of costume was actually a foreshadowing of my interest in the food industry. In the past year or so, I have found myself researching food histories and how they relate to contemporary diets. In particular, I have looked at corn-based snacks such as Fritos and Cheetos.
